We knew that before Avatar: The Way of the Water, the American public would discover some new trailers, like Oppenheimer, or the highly anticipated Barbie. After images leaked on the networks, Warner unveiled this first teaser officially. We don’t see much of the length in reality, the teaser preferring to parody the beginning of 2001, A Space Odyssey, with these little girls playing with dolls, before breaking them and throwing one in the air after seeing a monolith the first Barbie (with Margot Robbie wearing the striped swimsuit of the very first Barbie presented in 1959) . All set against a background of Strauss, of course. Then there will be a sequence of images of Barbieland, Ryan “Ken” Gosling, Simu Liu, Issa Rae, and… that’s it. Enough to set the meta and deliberately kitsch tone of the film. See also on KonbiniBarbie will be released in theaters in the summer of 2023.
