After rubbing shoulders with the stars with Interstellar and a dystopian future in Tenet, Christopher Nolan will return to the ground for his next film. In Oppenheimer, which he wrote and directed, the British-American filmmaker will return to the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, a scientist involved in the Manhattan Project, the origin of the creation of the atomic bomb during the Second World War. The film is inspired in particular by the biography of the American physicist written by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, but we can expect some fanciful liberties when we know the filmography and the paw of Nolan, a great lover of SF and winding time stories. The images give pride of place to its interpreter, Cillian Murphy, unforgettable Tommy Shelby of the Peaky Blinders and regular companion of Nolan (the Dark Knight trilogy and Inception), the latter filming the atoms in fusion like supernovae in space .If the trailer remains quite discreet about the rest of the cast, we will however find serious headliners, including Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Jack Quaid, Rami Malek or Kenneth Branagh. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer film is expected in French cinemas from July 19, 2023.
