In the pipeline at Disney since 2017, with Jared Leto on board, Tron’s third installment has had a hectic development. This is the sequel to the cult film from 1982 with the young Jeff Bridges and revolutionary special effects for the time and its sequel, Tron: The Legacy, directed by Joseph Kosinski – now bankable thanks to the cardboard box- office of Top Gun: Maverick – released in 2010 and met with moderate public success. But 12 years later, Disney finally agrees to relaunch the production of a third part of the adventures of the famous video game programmer. Garth Davis, known for having directed a few episodes of the series Top of the Lake and the feature films Lion or Marie Madeleine, had first been commissioned to make this third film. But Deadline tells us that it is finally the Norwegian director Joachim Rønning, well known to the house with big ears since he was at the controls of Pirates of the Caribbean 5 but also of Maleficent 2, who is now the lucky one.Jared Leto , expected to play the main role from the launch of the project, will take on the double role of actor and producer.
