David Lowery, the young director of A Ghost Story released in 2017 or more recently The Green Knight, is currently working on his next feature film entitled Mother Mary, still for A24. Described as an “epic pop melodrama”, the screenplay, written by Lowery himself, will follow a fictional musician (played by Anne Hathaway) in her relationship with a famous fashion designer (played by Michaela Coel). Charli XCX and The Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff wrote original songs for the film, while the soundtrack will be composed by Daniel Hart, who has previously worked on Lowery’s other five feature films – St. Nick, The Lovers from Texas, The Old Man and the Gun, A Ghost Story, The Green Knight – and on his animated film Peter and Elliott the Dragon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will shoot in Germany. On April 28, Peter Pan and Wendy, the live-action remake of the animated film Peter Pan, by David Lowery, will be released on Disney+.
