Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the sequel to the 2018 afro-futuristic Marvel film, largely dominated the North American box office for its first weekend in theaters, according to Sunday figures from specialist firm Exhibitor Relations. With $180 million in estimated revenue between Friday and Sunday in the United States and Canada, the Marvel movie ranks 13th among the best entries in history, according to Box Office Mojo. Internationally, the film earned an additional $150 million. “It’s a sensational release,” said David Gross, of the specialized firm Franchise Entertainment Research, “especially for a mid-November release”.
