Mourning, in the kingdom of Wakanda and among the actors of the film, was at the heart of an emotional first trailer which paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman, alias T’Challa / Black Panther – the latter having died of cancer colon in August 2020 at the age of 42. But in this new announcement unveiled by Marvel, the time is now in combat to face a new aquatic threat: Namor, the prince of the seas, played by Tenoch Huerta. While the question of the passing of the torch to the successor of Black Panther had remained in suspense until then, the last seconds of the trailer sketch an answer. In a final shot, Rolanda, Shuri and T’Challa’s mother, orders her daughter to “Show them who we are”, as a female figure appears in the Black Panther costume. A clue confirmed by the poster also unveiled on October 3 by the studios where Shuri appears in the center of the image, in front of the Black Panther mask. If Black Panther – Wakanda Forever is expected on November 9 in French cinemas, the unknown about its actual release still remains. Disney, owner of Marvel, questioned the chronology of the media, this very French specificity which frames the time limit for the exploitation of films after their theatrical release, and could therefore cancel the release of the film, which moreover has not no French trailer, in France. A new consultation takes place this Tuesday, October 4. Why Black Panther 2 could not be released in theaters in France Black Panther – Wakanda Forever promises to be one of the longest in the MCU (2 hours and 41 minutes). It will be the thirtieth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the last of Phase IV.
