The director of The Social Network David Fincher will receive an honorary César at the 48th edition of this French cinema award ceremony at the end of February, the Canal+ television channel announced on Friday. A statement from the channel was released, stating: “David Fincher is one of those rare directors whose entire filmography has become iconic over the years. An outstanding technician, a true visionary, his cinema is hypnotic, cerebral, a source of inspiration for countless artists.”Born August 28, 1962 in Colorado, David Fincher has established himself over the years as one of the greatest American filmmakers. Among his most famous films, Alien 3 (1992), Zodiac (2007), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), adaptation of a short story by Francis Scott Fitzgerald which earned him 13 Oscar nominations, and The Social Network on the beginnings of Facebook (2010). On the television side, he is one of the directors of the political series House of Cards. He is working on his next feature film, The Killer, which marks his big return to thrillers.
