Airplanes, motorcycles and… a game of “dogfight football”. What ? You don’t know this version of American football with two balls in order to play attack and defense at the same time? However, it’s one of the scenes from one of the films of the year (it’s not me who says it, it’s our film journalists who are, at this very moment, on vacation), available on VOD and streaming from little, Top Gun: Maverick. But the scene is obviously not just a football scene, it is one of the high points of the film, all in eroticism, Tom-Cruisian editing and tiktoke gimmicks. The clip (because it is a clip), punctuated by a very bad but addictive melody by OneRepublic, has become a meme of this year 2022, to the point of being published in a loop for three hours on the American YouTube page of the service of streaming Paramount+. But unfortunately, after having learned of the existence of this video which would have clearly made my afternoon, what a disappointment to realize that it is not available on our side of the Atlantic.
