After a live performance by Sebastian Yatra who interpreted “Dos Oruguitasla”, from the Encanto soundtrack on the Dolby Theater stage in Los Angeles, Lily James, Naomi Scott and Halle Bailey came to present the Oscar for best animated film. The Academy has chosen to reward Encanto: The Fantastic Madrigal Family by Byron Howard, Jared Bush and Charise Castro Smith, produced by Disney studios, which transported viewers to Colombia. The film therefore won its first Oscar of the evening but could also win that of the best original song. Encanto: The Fantastic Family Madrigal was preferred to Flee, Luca, The Mitchells against the machines and Raya and the Last Dragon, also produced by Disney.
