If you haven’t yet seen Esther, Jaume Collet-Serra’s horror film released in 2009 (Orphan in original version), better skip the next paragraph: spoiler straight ahead! Remember, the story of the first part , it is that of a 9-year-old orphan, adopted by a nice family who consider her their daughter. Except that we learn at the end that the kid is actually a very weird 33-year-old woman. She has a disease that prevents her from aging and, of course, since we are in a horror thriller, her hobby is killing people. The second part, titled Esther 2: Origins, is this time directed by William Brent Bell and released this Wednesday, August 17 at the cinema. As its name suggests, it is a prequel. Isabelle Fuhrman, now 25 years old, must therefore play a girl of only 9 years old, and here is how she manages it. In 2009, at the time of the first film, she was only 12 years old. Nothing unusual so far. The little actress had shone in the skin of this character, which then allowed her to have a discreet career in the cinema. For example, she played a supporting role in two parts of Hunger Games. Today, thirteen years later, she resumes her role in Esther 2. The parents claimed that she threatened and terrorized them. The story continued on TV sets, where Natalia Grace was able to defend herself on the Dr. Phil show. And when Phil McGraw asks her if she isn’t “a 33-year-old hustler”, we don’t really know who to believe…
