Until now, we only had a few images of the future Studio Ghibli park as well as artworks of the mythical places of the various films. But this Friday, September 16, Studios Ghibli has just released this teaser: The house and the Cat-bus of My neighbor Totoro and the Yakushima forest in Princess Mononoké: this is what we can discover in particular in this teaser of a sweetness as it looks like moisturizing cream. As a reminder, in this 2,000 hectare park, we will be able to walk through the marvelous sets of Studio Ghibli films. We will discover, for example, a life-size replica of Howl’s Moving Castle, the village of Princess Mononoke, the majestic forest of the Kingdom of Cats, as well as neighborhoods in which to walk. Of course, stores will also be present, especially in the Warehouse district of Spirited Away, just to leave with a giant Totoro plush toy. It’s a real dive into the dreamlike universe of Hayao Miyazaki that Studio Ghibli and Aichi Prefecture, who funded the park. The construction, which began in 2019 and cost 34 billion yen (264 million euros), has always had the deep desire to preserve the forest and all the nature that surrounds the place, while creating a place of leisure for the fans. Some areas of the park will open in November, but the full opening is scheduled for 2023. In the meantime, I advise you to (re)start a marathon of Ghibli films.
