This year, Marvel will also celebrate Christmas with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Star-Lord and his pals will be back in a Christmas TV movie, also called Holiday Special in the United States, while we wait for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 scheduled for May 2023. Obviously, James Gunn is still at the helm of this unit which is an integral part of phase IV of the MCU, in the same way as Werewolf by Night, another TV movie released on Disney + last month and centered on the character by Jack Russell. This Christmas TV movie is set chronologically after the events of Thor: Love and Thunder, when the two parties have gone their separate ways. The Guardians of the Galaxy have returned to protect the widow and the orphan in the universe, but something is off: Star-Lord, the leader of the team, is only a shadow of himself since the death of Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War. To comfort him, Mantis and Drax decide to go to Earth to give him a gift, but their attempt quickly turns to disaster when they try to kidnap… Kevin Bacon himself. Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas arrives November 25 on Disney+.
