For this month of Halloween, the editorial staff of Konbini is preparing a horrifying series for you. From creepypastas to little-known horror movies, to curses from elsewhere, a daily article will have you shivering until Day of the Dead. Enter, good people, enter the strangest, most disturbing, most horrifying of the Internets: the SCP Foundation (or “Special Containment Procedures” which gave their slogan “Secure, Contain, Protect”). The site, generously nurtured by a community that poses as a secret organization, aggregates and categorizes all the creepypastas available on the Internet. The entries come in the form of confidential files, partly censored. Each monster has a code name preceded by “SCP-“. All the files, or almost, have the same format: a technical sheet on the dangerousness of the subject, called “SCP”, on the means put in place to keep it under control, a description in good and due form then an archive telling a interview, an encounter, an experience with the monster in question. Here are five creepypastas straight out of the SCP Foundation. SCP-049, the plague doctor You probably already have in mind the look of the plague doctors: the mask in beak shape that gives them a crow’s head, the black hat, the leather tunic… This is exactly what SCP-049 looks like, except no one is sure what exactly is under his uniform .Even if he is generally courteous, he is suddenly capable of attacking his interlocutor, especially if he suspects the individual of being infected with the plague, and the concern is that no one really knows what this “plague” is. It could be a deep evil that only him can see, an invisible vice, a fundamental corruption… or only that the head of his victim does not belong to him. In any case, if you have the misfortune to be part of the plague-stricken ·s, he will execute you on the spot, without any other form of trial, then he will operate on your “infected” corpse, to “cure” it. He will cut you open, drain your blood, remove any organs he deems diseased from your carcass, and then you will wake up, if you wake up, in a nightmarish slump, with no memory of your old life, and you will spend the rest of your life obeying SCP-049. Sacred healing.SCP-2430, Hitler 2.0In the 1960s, a man who looked exactly like Adolf Hitler was reportedly captured in Argentina: hunched over, shuffling with difficulty, hiding a weakened left arm behind his back. He was an old man with blue eyes, glassy, oily skin, 1.70 meters tall and weighing 70 kilograms – a man who looked exactly like Adolf Hitler, therefore, with the only difference that one could not manage to draw the least word. A series of in-depth examinations made it possible to determine its exact nature, and plunged the authorities into a state of deep perplexity: its DNA is the fruit of a cross between those of a wild boar and a goat, its skeleton is made up of the bones of eight different individuals, and his body hair, including his mustache, was entirely synthetic, artificially attached to his skin. affair, but to a perfect clone of the dictator. What was it created for? When ? By who ? No one could tell. Due to lack of response and tired of guessing, an attempt was made to destroy SCP-2430, but its extraordinary regeneration abilities prevented any definitive elimination. No one has, to date, managed to get rid of this puzzling clone, who is still waiting, silently, staring blankly, in a cell at the SCP Foundation.SCP-2316, “You don’t recognize the bodies in the ‘eau”The SCP Foundation not only lists creatures or monsters: it also deals with containing the potential danger of paranormal phenomena. SCP-2316, for example, refers to an anomaly occurring in Lake █c█o█n█f█i█d█e█n█t█i█e█l█, USA: it is several bodies, apparently lifeless, floating on the surface of the water. These bodies seem to you to have been there forever, the sight of them is familiar to you, as if they themselves were familiar to you, but DNA tests reveal that “ you don’t recognize the bodies in the water”. Even if your curiosity pushes you to approach it, to be sure, there’s no doubt: “You don’t recognize the bodies in the water.”And if, by chance, you give in to temptation and you venture into the water to be sure, of course, that it is not, as you are now sure, your childhood friends, your cousins. s, of your parents, I assure you: “You do not recognize the bodies in the water.” Because those who wanted to make sure and entered the water to identify the bodies are now floating on the surface of the lake.SCP-4960, the sex goddessSCP-4960 is a physical manifestation of Kedesh-Nanaya, a Bronze Age deity. She embodies and spreads around her beauty, fertility, carnal pleasures and eroticism. She sometimes appears naked, sometimes covered with jewels or a gold dress. Each being sees her idea of aesthetic perfection there, projects all her fantasies, all her desires. She is blonde and dark, cruel and tender, skinny and busty… She is everything you desire, everything you didn’t know you wanted and she feeds on your fascination. The more intense the love for her, the more she exists. drop by drop. Hence the importance, for the SCP Foundation, of placing at its disposal hundreds of women and men, constantly at its service, enslaved, hungry for their goddess, no longer existing. only for his aura, his body, his voice, and through his eyes.SCP-055, the Self-Keeping Secret No one knows what this is. All those who have observed, frequented, examined, analyzed it, are unable to say what SCP-055 consists of. Nobody knows. It’s not that it’s invisible or indescribable: you can look at it, smell it, touch it, listen to it, take notes, photos, videos, draw it. Nor is it that we are obligated, for any reason, to keep this information secret. No, if no one knows what SCP-055 is, it is because any information about her escapes from the mind that may have held her. Any memory leaks from the observer’s memory immediately after entering it. You just have to talk about it to change the subject, to think about it to distract yourself, and finally, inevitably, to forget. -055, we forget, as soon as we finish watching a video of SCP-055, we forget. Besides, it’s a safe bet that you have already seen representations of it on the Internet, even read entire articles about it, perhaps you even have a book on it at home, but you have… forgotten.
