While Top Gun: Maverick arrives in our dark rooms this Wednesday, May 25, and Tom Cruise was on the Croisette to defend the sequel to the cult film directed by Tony Scott, Paramount took the opportunity for us hyper with another project of the American actor. And not just any since it is the return of the Mission: Impossible franchise, a reference for action films, and even the seventh installment of the saga, titled Dead Reckoning Part One. Ethan Hunt and his gang of special agents, experts in perilous situations, will push the limits of the imaginable, as evidenced by a very spectacular first trailer. this famous breathtaking motorcycle sequence and filmed in the United Kingdom, which comes to close the trailer. The realization of this seventh opus is still in the hands of Christopher McQuarrie, already at the origin of Mission impossible: Rogue Nation and Mission impossible: Fallout. In terms of the cast, we will come across new characters played by Simon Pegg (Benjamin Dunn) and Rebecca Ferguson (Ilsa Faust), but also new protagonists played by Hayley Atwell (Captain America: First Avenger), Pom Klementieff (The Guardians of the Galaxy), Shea Whigham (Fast and Furious) and Indira Varma (Game of Thrones). We should also note the return of Henry Czerny alias Eugene Kittridge, who appeared in the very first Mission: Impossible by Brian de Palma. Finally, the role of the antagonist returns to Esai Morales, seen recently in the series Ozark and Titans. Mission: Impossible promises unsurprisingly to take Tom Cruise’s ambitions up a notch to surprise viewers with ever more breathtaking and impressive action scenes. The film is expected in 2023 at the cinema.
