To celebrate the first day of filming for this Joker: Folie à deux, following the huge success of 2019, director Todd Phillips unveiled on his Instagram account a first photo of Joaquin Phoenix in the role of said Joker. Difficult to decipher this cliché, except that the setting could be that of Arkham Asylum, the place where the first part ended and where the second part should take place. As a reminder, at the end of the first movie, the Joker gets arrested and ends up in said asylum. Folie à deux will probably pick up the story directly here, since in the comics, the Joker meets Harley Quinn in the institution. The latter will be at the center of the story, embodied by Lady Gaga, in a film that is described as “musical”. A first photo in a long series if the director teases this second film as much as he teased the first on his Instagram account. Anyway, we have time to see; Joker: Folie à deux is scheduled for the end of 2024 – October normally.
