Like that, the information seems a little incongruous but it is very real: Joby Harold, in particular scriptwriter of the Star Wars series: Obi-Wan Kenobi, was called to write the live action film of My Hero Academia. After Death Note and One Piece is My Hero Academia, by Kohei Horikoshi, with 65 million copies sold worldwide, which is being adapted for the screen in live action format. The project originated from Netflix and plans to be produced by Legendary Entertainment, which has notably worked on the last three Godzilla films. In addition, as announced in August 2021, we find Shinsuke Sato (Alice in Borderland) directing as well as executive producing. On the screenplay side, it is therefore Joby Harold who takes care of the file. When you know that few live action movies have succeeded in touching people’s hearts, it is normal to have some doubts about the possible success of a My Hero Academia movie. But Joby Harold’s CV can perhaps reassure you: Awake, King Arthur: The Legend of Excalibur, Army of the Dead, and soon Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and The Flash, Joby Harold’s experience tends strongly towards the action. And My Hero Academia telling the story of children in a superhero academy, we can only hope for the best. See also on Konbini Alas, no date has yet been communicated.
