And here we go again. Present at the 2023 Oscars ceremony, JR had fun, as in 2020, taking portraits of the invited personalities. Kid Cudi, Madonna, Paul Mescal (nominated for Aftersun), Billie Eilish, Judd Apatow, Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Timothée Chalamet, Brendan Fraser (The Whale), Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Kaitlyn Dever and Darren Aronofsky (The Whale) pose madly next to their paper double, crumpled clouds, gigantic hands or against a background of black polka dots. Part of the celebrities are photographed in the slit of their own portrait printed in large format and in black and white, signature of the French artist. Some are immortalized from a low angle, lying down, mimicking a jump or tearing the paper. Special mention to Judd Apatow coming out of his marmoset.
