Quentin Dupieux doesn’t have our time. While Incredible But True was released in theaters this summer and Smoking makes you cough, his new farce halfway between the nanar and the fake superhero movie, is scheduled for November 30 in dark rooms, the director announced on Instagram that he has started shooting his next and twelfth feature film. Quentin Dupieux once again brings together the cream of French cinema (and more), some being used to the filmmaker’s universe and others arriving in his new film entitled Daaaaaali: Anaïs Demoustier, Édouard Baer, Gilles Lellouche, Pio Marmaï, Pierre Niney, Alain Chabat, Jonathan Cohen, Hakim Jemili, Agnès Hurstel, Jérôme Niel, Marc Fraize, Didier Flamand, “more others”, are announced in particular in the casting. If nothing is ever certain with the whimsical director, it will indeed be a question of the surrealist painter Dali in this eponymous film, of which here is the short synopsis: “A French journalist who meets Salvador Dalí several times times for a documentary project.” According to Deadline, the artist will be played by different actors in the film, a bit like I’m Not There, the biopic on Bob Dylan by Todd Haynes. Filming is underway in Paris and will continue in the south of France and then Spain. It should last six weeks.
