Three months after the release of Elvis by Baz Luhrmann last June, a huge box office success that raised $ 284 million worldwide, the famous rocker will once again be at the heart of a biopic, tells us Deadline . It is Sofia Coppola who will soon embark on this project entitled Priscilla and adapted from the memoirs Elvis and I by Priscilla Beaulieu Presley, a world bestseller published in 1985 which tells the intimate life of the latter with the singer. After Austin Butler who played Elvis for Baz Luhrmann, it is Jacob Elordi, known for his role in the series Euphoria, who will take over the role. Cailee Spaeny (Mare of Easttown) has been cast as Priscilla, whom the singer met when she was 14. In this biopic, the director will recount their six years of marriage, the birth of their daughter Lisa Marie, and the reasons for their breakup four years before her death in 1977. Distributed by A24, the filming of Priscilla should begin this fall. The release date is not yet known. Sofia Coppola’s last film, On the Rocks, was released exclusively on Apple TV in 2020.
