No, you’re not dreaming: after terrorizing an entire generation, Esther (real name Leena Klammer) is making a comeback. Released in 2009, the original film featured a supposed little girl, who actually turned out to be a psychopathic adult with a hormonal disorder. Available on August 17 in theaters, Esther 2: the origins, will return to the past of this “child”, before her arrival in the Coleman family. On the program of this prequel: murders, fire and false identity. As frightening as we remember, Leena Klammer poses as Esther Mauerova, the missing daughter of the couple formed by Katie and Richard. But very quickly, discord sets in within the small family, especially as the parents begin to have doubts as to the identity of their daughter. Eleven years after the release of the first film, Isabelle Fuhrman takes over the role -title of Esther, alongside Julia Stiles and Rossif Sutherland, who play Katie and Richard Mauerova respectively. On the production side, Jaume Collet-Serra gave way to horror specialist William Brent Bell, to whom we owe the films Stay Alive and The Boy (2016).
