The completely banana-like little yellow creatures are finally back. Minions 2: Once Upon a Time Gru, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2015 worldwide smash-hit animated film and fifth film in the Despicable Me franchise, is revealed in a new and final aerial trailer before its release. The production of this new opus started in 2017 and its release was initially scheduled for July 2020. But the film has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will land in theaters on July 6. This is a prequel to the famous saga created by Illumination studios, which will tell us about Gru’s childhood and how he became the endearing villain we know thanks to the help of the Minions. Here’s the official synopsis: “While the 1970s were in full swing, Gru, who grew up in the suburbs amid bell bottom jeans and blooming hair, hatched a machiavellian plan to succeed in joining a band. famous super-villains, known as Vicious 6, of which he is the biggest fan. He is assisted in his task by the Minions, his little companions as turbulent as they are faithful.”These 10 (hyper-awaited) films were postponed due to the coronavirusPierre Coffin continues to dub all the Minions in VO and VF while Steve Carell will lend his voice to Gru in VO. In French, it is Gad Elmaleh who will take over the character while Jonathan Cohen will double the mad scientist Dr Nefario. The film is once again directed by Kyle Balda, assisted by Brad Ableson (The Simpsons) and Jonathan del Val.
