After being a huge success in the United States, earning more than 108.5 million dollars, The Minions 2 exploded all French box office records from the first day of its theatrical release. With more than 603,500 admissions , including 93,175 in preview, the new animated film from Illumination studios recorded the best start of the year 2022, far ahead of Jurassic World 3 and Top Gun: Maverick. Exceptional figures that distributors had not seen since 2019. At the time, Avengers: Endgame topped the charts with 692,142 admissions, followed closely by the live action The Lion King and its 630,478 admissions. Film Festival has probably boosted attendance in theaters in recent days, the success story of Minions 2 cannot be reduced to a simple coincidence of timing… With this fifth film in the Despicable Me franchise, the first of which was released in 2010, the Minions are gradually asserting themselves as the most profitable characters in animation.
