In 2020, the Polish feature film 365 Dni landed on Netflix. Erotic but above all very problematic, the film actually praised rape culture with a lot of sexist clichés and toxic masculinity. But the very explicit sex scenes of this “Polish Fifty Shades of Grey” allowed it to climb into the top 10 Netflix films in more than 90 countries and to be the fourth most searched film on Google in 2020. 365 Dni: why Netflix’s erotic film is a shame Faced with this success and despite the controversy, the streaming giant had therefore persisted and signed for a trilogy of the sexual adventures of the Sicilian mobster Massimo and Laura, a young woman he retains captive in the hope that she will fall in love with him. In this second opus entitled 365 Days: The Next Day and still directed by Barbara Bialowas, the director seems to want to reverse the roles and it is now Laura who does “what she wants” with Massimo, as announced from her intro trailer.
