Mentioned since 2019 but regularly denied by the director, the continuation of the Joker played by Joaquin Phoenix had never been officially confirmed by the main interested parties. But it’s now done: without any other form of description, Todd Philips has just posted on Instagram a photo of the cover of the scenario entitled Joker: Folie à deux, in French in the text, as well as a photo in black and white of Phoenix reading the script. It’s signed by Todd Philips and Scott Silver (8 Mile, The Finest Hours) who previously co-wrote the first installment, and was completed on May 18, 2022 if we are to believe the picture. Released in 2019, the violence of Joker divided critics but the film won a Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, an Oscar for best actor for Joaquin Phoenix and best music for Hildur Guðnadóttir, as well as a real success in theaters since it collected a billion dollars in box office receipts.The director of Joker back to write a sequel with Joaquin PhoenixJoaquin Phoenix will therefore be back in the skin of Arthur Fleck believes the title (perhaps only provisional), he will not be alone. Accompanied by his personality disorder or another person – perhaps Harley Quinn – the Prince of Crime will return to service. Warner has not given any additional information about this sequel.
