The Year of the Shark, the summer comedy by twins Ludovic and Zoran Boukherma, hits theaters. After the moving Willy 1er and the very successful Teddy, the two promising filmmakers revisit, in their own way, a new popular figure in genre cinema and put their singular vision at the service of this highly cinematic creature. The shortcut is tempting, but L Year of the Shark is not a French remake of Jaws. If, as with Spielberg, there are no digital special effects but a shark created from scratch, the directors preferred to decline the recipe that made the success of their previous feature film by mixing moments of comedy, horrific sequences and societal subtext. Originally from the South-West, they called on locals and once again brought together professional actors – Marina Foïs, Kad Merad, Jean -Pascal Zadi and Christine Gautier, already present in the casting of Teddy – and non-professionals. From Biscarosse to a swimming pool in Aubervilliers, we followed the team of The Year of the Shark behind the scenes of the film. Shark making, stunts, fake blood, apnea and scuba diving, Zoran, Ludovic and Jean-Pascal told us the behind-the-scenes of the shooting of this atypical film.
