Since September 13, you must have seen tweets, Instagram posts, videos, or even articles about Ryan Reynolds’ large intestine. Indeed, the actor of Deadpool said he had a colonoscopy. You will say to me: why are we so interested in it? We have to go back to the origins of history. According to Ryan Reynolds, he and his best friend, actor Rob McElhenney, made a bet in 2021. The two men having bought Welsh football club Wrexham FC, Reynolds would have challenged his sidekick to learn Welsh, thinking that he wouldn’t be able to. Unfortunately, McElhenney managed to speak the language in just a few months. Ryan Reynolds therefore had to keep his pledge: do a colonoscopy – a medical examination where the inside of the intestines is filmed, in search of possible problems or cancerous tumors. Thinking the schoolboy joke, he had fun doing it. doing and filming it, until he was told he had a polyp – a growth that can turn into a cancerous tumor – clinging to the wall of his intestine. The doctor removed him, stating that that was what the screening was for, and that it could save lives. McElhenney also took the test, and had three polyps removed. The two therefore decided to transform this humorous video into a prevention spot, to encourage their subscribers over 45 to do the same. Whether the storytelling is true or not, it doesn’t matter: the message got through.
