Director Damien Chazelle is known to be a true music aficionado, all his feature films are in themselves true tributes to the jazz music scene. The film La La Land (2016) respects this adage as well as the recent series The Eddy which explores the underside of a musical scene in full crisis. The director’s first feature film, Whiplash, seems to be the source of this passion. It is now available for free on France TV: A longer version of his own short film released in 2013 which had a great career at the Sundance festival, Whiplash did not leave the public indifferent when it was released the following year . The work will be crowned in many festivals, notably in Deauville where the film won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Prize. The actor JK Simmons, who plays the role of the somewhat demanding conductor, will leave on his side, thanks to his performance, with the distinction of Best actor in a supporting role in several festivals. The film is available on France TV until to August 26.
